Director Search

The Collegium Board of Directors and the Collegium Director Search Committee formally invite applications from individuals interested in serving as the Director of Collegium.  It is expected that applicants will have attended the Collegium Summer Colloquy and be currently employed by a Collegium Member Institution.

Thomas Landy, the current and founding Director of Collegium, recently announced his intention to retire from the position following the 2022 summer Colloquy, which will be held in June of that year.  Our goal is to hire a new Director who will overlap with Tom for a period of time leading up to this Colloquy, and then serve as the sole Director.

The Board expects that the home institution of the new Director will serve as the host of the Collegium Office.  Because Joyce Gawlik, the current Collegium Assistant Director, also plans to retire in June 2022, it is a reasonable expectation that the new Director may choose to hire a new Assistant Director to support the work of the Collegium Office.

Applications for the Director position will occur in two stages

Stage 1: Applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and a list of three references to the Search Committee by March 1, 2020 at the following address:

Stage 2: The Search Committee will invite a short list of candidates to submit a comprehensive proposal that will include a letter of support from their institution’s president.  More information about the Stage 2 proposal can be found at this link:  Proposal Information

The Search Committee expects to recommend the new Director to the Collegium Board of Directors in the fall of 2020.
