Biology Professor and D’Alzon Chair David Crowley received the 2025 Landy Award at a dinner event at his home institution, Assumption College, on October 22. Named for Collegium’s founder Thomas Landy, this award honors an individual who, over several years, has offered superb service to the organization. Since his first colloquy experience in 2008, David has mentored small groups multiple times on all three of Collegium’s host schools, and served two terms on the Board, including one as Chair. When the colloquy is at Holy Cross in his Worcester neighborhood, David has been the unofficial Chief Procurement Officer, providing the snacks and beverages for nightly socials. His recurring question over 17 years is “what does Collegium need me to do?” and then he goes about that cheerfully and generously. As the photos here illustrate, his colleagues at Assumption didn’t even wait for the full citation to be read before erupting into a rousing standing ovation for a cherished community member who serves his university every bit as big-heartedly as he does Collegium. Congratulations, David Crowley!
