Timeline and Details Regarding the Hiring of the new Executive Director

Applications for the Executive Director position will occur in two stages

The Collegium Board of Directors and the Collegium Director Search Committee formally invite applications from individuals interested in serving as the Executive Director (ED) of Collegium. It is expected that applicants will have attended the Collegium Summer Colloquy and be currently employed by a Collegium Member Institution at the individual or charism level at the time of application. Nominations are welcome and may be submitted using this form.

Karen Eifler, the current Director of Collegium, announced her intention to retire from the position following the June 2027 summer Colloquy. Our goal is to hire a new Executive Director who will overlap with the current ED, Dr. Karen Eifler, in the months leading up to the 2027 Colloquy, and then serve as the sole ED for a minimum of five years.

A position description for the ED position can be found at this link: Position Description.

The Board expects that the home institution of the new ED will serve as the host of the Collegium Office.

Stage 1: Letter of Intent

Applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, the name of a contact at their institution to discuss institutional support, and a list of three references to the Search Committee by Feb 1, 2026 at the following address: marianne.lloyd [at] shu.edu (marianne[dot]lloyd[at]shu[dot]edu) . The letter of interest should detail the candidate’s relationship with Collegium and their suitability to the role based on reading the position description posted here (post and insert link)

A subset of candidates will be invited by the Search Committee to a Zoom interview on/around March 1st, 2026.

Stage 2: Proposal

A short list of candidates from stage 1 will be asked by the Search Committee to submit a comprehensive proposal, including a letter of support from their institution’s president.

It is anticipated that Stage 2 packages will be due May 1, 2026.

The search committee will work with short-list candidates as needed to help them to craft a proposal that will allow the committee to assess candidate viability in light of details related to the home campus, balance of duties, etc.

Each short-list candidate will be asked to submit a 5-year proposal, including:

  • Relationship of Director candidate to their home institution (description of relationship between current Director and University of Portland will be provided to all short-listed candidates)
