Theresa Jeevanjee

Independent Scholar, Mathematics & Computer Science

Theresa Jeevanjee is professor and chair of the department of mathematics and computer science at Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri. Teaching is a second career for her. She received a BS in mathematics and computer science in 1984 and spent nine years working in process control and biomedical science support. Theresa continued computer consulting when she went to graduate school in 1993 and received her Ph.D. in mathematics from Saint Louis University in 2000. She taught for one year at the University of Missouri, St. Louis, and has been at Fontbonne ever since. Her research in theoretical mathematics includes work on DNA knots and physics. Theresa and her husband, Zulfikar, have three children, Ryan, Kiran and Lauren, and two dogs. When not working, Theresa enjoys spending time with her family, running, reading, painting and ballet class. Theresa is an associate of the Congregation of St. Joseph (CSJ sisters), who are the founders of Fontbonne. Theresa is very happy to be participating in Collegium once again!
